This side by side well represents the medium level production of the artisans-gunmakers working in Val Trompia in 1950s and 1960s.
When Andrea Benetti built this gun he was looking at the well-established Holland & Holland type, which was popular, renowned and desired.
The adjustment between frame and barrels is scrupolous, the triple closure works well and the locks are carefully made.
The necessity to keep the price low is shown by the lack of ejectors and by the finishing of the action and of the minor parts.
The pommel grip stock with bakelite grip cap has the typical volumes of that period and area.
